Research data supporting development of new production methods for terbium theragnostic isotopes These data were collected 2019-2021 as part of the PhD thesis work of Rebeckah Trinder [University of Birmingham (2022), https://etheses.bham.ac.uk/id/eprint/12624/]. This thesis is referred to as reference [1] in the text below. Context These data correspond to the production of terbium isotopes using helium beams on natural-abundance europium targets at the Birmingham MC40 Cyclotron. This work was carried out to explore an alternative production method to the p+Gd route for the terbium novel medical isotopes which currently requires highly enriched Gd target material. At the time of this study no data were available for the 16-40 MeV region for the He+Eu synthesis route As the raw data are a very large number of spectra collected over 4-6 weeks, the information given here represent the data to support the key results presented in the (forthcoming) publication entitled "High-precision cyclotron production cross-section measurements for terbium isotopes". In particular all the data shown in the figures of that article are available here. Specifically, the data fall into two categories: corrected counts against time-since-irradiation for half-life data, and cross section data. The cross section data are obtained from the half-life data fits as they represent the offset of linear fits corresponding to the activity at the end of irradiation. File details (cross sections): ------------------------------ Note that the final dataset in each file is the same as the first dataset (i.e. the experiment data measured in the current work), but repeated for plotting purposes to make sure they lie in the foreground. tb156tot_final.txt - measured Tb-156 cross sections (all states) as a function of beam energy. The second dataset corresponds to TALYS-2.0 calculations for Tb-156 (all states). The third to TALYS-2.0 for the Tb-156 ground-state only. The fourth and fifth to the TALYS-2.0 predictions of the m1 and m2 states in Tb-156 respectively. Datasets six and seven are literature data for comparison (see dataset headings for details). tb155gs_final.txt - measured Tb-155 cross sections as a function of beam energy. The second dataset corresponds to TALYS-2.0 calculations for the Tb-155 ground state. The third and fourth datasets are literature data for comparison (see dataset headings for details). tb154tot_final.txt - measured Tb-154 cross sections (all states) as a function of beam energy. The second dataset corresponds to TALYS-2.0 calculations for Tb-154 (all states). TALYS was modified from the defaults to including the Tb-154m1 state and the m2 excitation energy was adjusted from 400 keV to 200 keV to match the current NDS compilation data [C.W. Reich, Nuclear Data Sheets 110 (2009) 2257]. The third dataset is the corresponding unmodified TALYS-2.0 prediction for comparison. The fourth dataset is literature data for comparison (see dataset headings for details). tb154m2_final.txt - measured Tb-154m2 cross sections as a function of beam energy. The second and third datasets are the modified and unmodified TALYS-2.0 calculations for the Tb-154m2 state population respectively. The datasets four, fives and six are literature data for comparison (see dataset headings for details). tb154m1_final.txt - measured Tb-154m1 cross sections as a function of beam energy. The second dataset is the modified TALYS-2.0 calculation for the Tb-154m1 state population. Datasets three, four and fives are literature data for comparison (see dataset headings for details). tb154gs_final.txt - measured Tb-154 ground-state (gs) cross sections as a function of beam energy. The second and third datasets are the modified and unmodified TALYS-2.0 calculations for the Tb-154gs population respectively. The fourth and fifth datasets are literature data for comparison (see dataset headings for details). tb153gs_final.txt - measured Tb-153 ground-state cross sections as a function of beam energy. The second dataset is the modified TALYS-2.0 calculation for the Tb-153gs state population. Datasets three, four and five are literature data for comparison (see dataset headings for details). tb152tot_final.txt - measured Tb-152 cross sections (all states) as a function of beam energy. The second dataset is the modified TALYS-2.0 calculation for the population of all Tb-152 states. The third and fourth datasets are the corresponding calculations for the ground-state and m1 isomer respectively. The fifth and sixth datasets are literature data for comparison (see dataset headings for details). tb152m1_final.txt - measured Tb-152m1 cross sections as a function of beam energy. The second dataset is the modified TALYS-2.0 calculation for the Tb-152m1 state population. tb151tot_final.txt - measured Tb-151 cross sections (all states) as a function of beam energy. The second dataset is the modified TALYS-2.0 calculation for the population of all Tb-151 states. The third and fourth datasets are the corresponding calculations for the ground-state and m1 isomer respectively. Note the m1 calculation has been multiplied by 0.943 which represents the internal isomer decay branch to the ground state. The fifth and sixth datasets are literature data for comparison (see dataset headings for details).
