Data processing and preparation activities:	Adaptive wavelet noise suppression (AWNS) is a software that allows suppressing spectral noise of neuro proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The software is available on MATLAB (MathWorks, Natick, Massachusetts, USA), and the signal processing and wavelet toolboxes need to be installed. To use the software, the acquired spectroscopy data needs to be converted into LCModel raw format, and the method can be found from Provencher, Magn Reson Med 30, 672 (1993). Please make sure the converted data is saved as “WS.raw” and “W.raw”, which are water suppressed and water unsuppressed files. Please make sure the scanning parameters, such as echo time, are available for the data. To run the software, please put the raw data in the same folder with the software, and then click “run” in MATLAB’s menu bar. When everything is finished, there will be a new file generated at the path, which is the final output of AWNS. Please contact Dr Teddy Zhao (d.zhao.1@bham.ac.uk) for any enquiries.
