This dataset includes a material balance of coarsely shredded Li-ion pouch cells which have been through electrostatic and Magnetic separation processes, and subsequent optical characterisation. 3 types of pouch cell (NMC from a 2nd Generation Nissan Leaf, LMO-NCA from a 1st Generation Nissan Leaf, and LFP from A123) were parameterised to determine the mass of anode, cathode, pouch, separator, casing, and electrolyte. These cells were then shredded, separated, and optically sorted. FTIR data of separator materials is also included.
