    <collection_method>Participants completed a period of 1hr, 2hr and 4hr sitting in a controlled environment. Data were collected before the period of sitting and immediately after the sitting to assess the acute effects of sitting on the participants. The outcome measures included leg power, walking speed, blood pressure, cortisol levels and mood.</collection_method>
